To accelerate the deep integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technologies with Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), and to enhance the clinical practice and research innovation capabilities of healthcare professionals both within and beyond Guangdong Province, the National Continuing Medical Education Program – Advanced Training Course on the Integration of Perioperative AI-Assisted Anesthesia Decision Support and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery – was successfully held from July 9 to 11 at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou. The course was organized by the Department of Anesthesiology of the hospital.
The training course was open to anesthesiologists, clinical researchers, medical AI-related healthcare professionals, technical staff, and research core members from hospitals at all levels nationwide. The curriculum balanced clinical hands-on practice, research design, and cutting-edge AI technology implementation, covering core topics such as standardized ERAS management, perioperative research, construction of intelligent anesthesia systems, and compliant application of medical big data. Participants came from multiple medical institutions across the province and beyond, bringing together numerous frontline clinicians and researchers, and establishing a high-level, interdisciplinary, and cross-regional academic exchange platform for perioperative medicine.
Going forward, the Department of Anesthesiology of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University will continue to leverage the national continuing education platform to regularly conduct high-level academic training and technology dissemination in perioperative medicine. It will further deepen research on the integration of AI and ERAS, fully exert its regional leadership and radiating influence, promote the dissemination of intelligent perioperative anesthesia and standardized ERAS care models to medical institutions at all levels, and advance the homogenization and high-quality development of perioperative medicine nationwide. Through cutting-edge technology and standardized protocols, it aims to tangibly improve perioperative safety and patient comfort for surgical patients.
